We are hiring Utility Engineering Technician to work with a top utility company in Columbus, OH. This company is highly reputable with several awards for growth, equality, and safety. Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) is looking for dedicated workers for this role.

  • This is a full-time, long-term position with growth opportunities.
  • Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position requires measuring CATV, telephone, and power company lines and equipment attached to utility poles using digital photos and software. (Pole photos will be obtained by our Utility GIS Data Technicians in the field)

The Utility Engineering Technician will build 3-D models of utility poles and analyze them for overloads and clearance violations.

Technicians will provide make-ready recommendations to solve pole overloads and/or clearance violations.

Technicians must have or be able to quickly obtain a thorough understanding of Google Earth.

The candidate should be comfortable working with minimal supervision and will be responsible for projects from cradle to grave.

This position requires good math skills and a very high level of attention to detail .

The Utility Engineering Technician MUST have excellent writing skills including spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and proper grammar.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • valid drivers license.
  • A.S. in Engineering Technology, CAD, or Construction is a plus.
  • Requires knowledge of MS Office, Google Earth, and/or other mapping applications.
  • Utility right-of-way knowledge, telecommunications, or electric utility experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of O-Calc PRO, LD-Field, LD-Pro, SPIDACalc, Pole-Foreman, or other pole loading software is desired.
