We are now holding interviews for our September 27th-30th Telecom Cabling Boot Camp in Sterling, VA. In this course you will receive on-the-job skills and hands-on equipment training in telecom installation, including:
- Safety practices, tools & equipment specifics commonly used on jobsites
- Understanding the differences between OSP and ISP
- Closet buildout techniques with hands-on training & demonstration
- Cable pulling, placement, pathways, navigation, stringing, separating & best practices
- Termination “how-tos” including Cat5 and Cat6 cable, coaxial cable, modular vs. non-modular patch panels, & faceplate installation
- General testing techniques, tips for identifying pass/fail readings plus proven ways for handling a tester
- Job Etiquette, tool identification, cabling-related terms & on-site documentation
- Bonuses and incentives available to all participants

Essential Functions of the Job:
- Lifting, carrying, adjusting, moving and/or transporting of objects up to 50 pounds
- Walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, maintaining balance and/or crawling for extended periods
- Pushing and pulling of arms and legs; use of abdominal and lower back muscles
- Coordinating movements of the eyes, hands, fingers and feet
- Ascending and descending of stairs, ladders, lifts, etc.
- Speaking, hearing and seeing to avoid safety hazards
- Strenuous manual labor
