We are seeking a motivated Low Voltage Estimator, someone who is comfortable working hard, enjoys working with people, has excellent communication skills, and is a person proficient at multi-tasking and staying organized.

Description of Position:

As an estimator and self-manager with the company, you will be an integral member of the team and can collaborate on diverse project types associated with the design and installation of large commercial access control and security systems. You must be knowledgeable in materials and methods of construction, and familiar with building types associated with security and integration. The right candidate for the role has excellent organizational and communications skills, has a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, is self-motivated, and enjoys working closely with team members.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Estimating of IP Based Video Camera Systems, VMS systems – Video Management Software, Electronic Access Control Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, IP Intercom systems, Electronic Locking Hardware, Wireless Locks, Wireless access points, and ISP and OSP copper and fiber telecommunications cabling systems.
  • Ability to read and review construction documents.
  • Modeling and design work of commercial access control and security systems.
  • Generate supplemental field construction documents.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and provide technical expertise.
  • Develop an estimating spreadsheet.
  • Develop submittal packages that consist of and recognize pathways, conduit runs, and specifics for MEP.
  • Provide end-of-project closeout documentation with as-builds, test results, camera schedules, and dates.
  • Generate quote or proposal.
  • Communicate effectively with designator partners in the construction of the project.
  • Generate project change orders.
  • Provide sales and field technical support.

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience as in low voltage / electrical estimation
  • Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, electrical equipment, and methods required.
  • Proven experience mentoring and managing others.
  • Business development/heavy client interaction a plus.
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Tactful and has professional demeanor, and ability to interact effectively with managers, employees, vendors, and others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, record-keeping and follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player.
  • Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedures.
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance.
  • Must be able to pass Federal/State/City background check.

Job Requirements:

  • Proficient in MS Word, MS, Excel, MS Project, MS Visio, MS Outlook, BlueBeam, PDF Overlay
  • Ability to use a scale ruler and a digital scale
  • Must be able to read and comprehend blueprints and specifications
  • Highly motivated with strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of telecommunications and security materials and installation methods
  • Skilled in written and oral communications
  • Able to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

Required Job Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of applicable experience required.
  • High level of proficiency in design software such as Bluebeam or any Overlay PDF.
  • Ability to work efficiently with strong personal management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to overcome quickly and effectively unforeseen challenges.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated for continuous learning and improving technical and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of professionalism.
  • Ability to use self-judgment, problem-solving, and self-starting.
  • Demonstrate dedication and a positive team attitude.

  • Compensation: $55k – $65k (depending on years of experience)

Pay: $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • Security Integration & Low Voltage Systems: 5 years (Required)
