OVERVIEW:
Prepare bids for Construction of Telecommunications tower and cell sites. Includes Civil, Tower and Electrical trades.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend/or assist in gathering information from pre-bid site walks when requested.
- Familiar with material applications for different site conditions.
- Solicit subcontractor and material supplier pricing.
- Assist territory staff in finding and qualifying additional subcontractors/vendors as needed.
- Prepare estimates from bid walks, CD’s, and SOW to include labor, materials, equipment needed, subcontractor quotes, profit, overhead and taxes for Wireless Construction Job Costing.
- Attend bid walks with customers, take necessary photos, bid notes and measurements.
- Be able to show a breakdown of the labor and materials for all segments of Construction, Installation, Integration and Optimization as needed.
- Prepare change order estimates.
- Maintain Vendor Files.
- Utilize various client bidding software for electronic bidding.
- Maintain Bid Log and provide quarterly win/loss updates upon request.
- Prepare estimates for budget projects.
- Assist project management in setting up job using negotiated bids from subcontractors/vendors.
- Ability to read construction drawings and create BOM’s and SOW based upon drawings.

- Working knowledge and experience with project/contract budgets.
- Knowledge and experience of project and construction practices.
- Experience with computerized estimating programs.
- Computer knowledge including experience with all MS Office applications.
- Ability to interact, in a respectful manner with clients, consultants, property owners and staff.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and regulatory personnel.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS degree required.
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in estimating construction projects, preferably with telecom and new build construction projects with a strong civil background.
- Must be able to bid jobs, put together proposals, understand the estimating process, work with the construction, electrical, technical and project management team and have a strong understanding of the wireless project life cycle.
- Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, meet required deadlines within a special time, and calculate dimensions and materials as needed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Hours and travel on a flexible schedule as needed, including weekends.
