We are currently hiring Full-Time Field Technicians. No prior experience needed! Aecon will provide paid in-depth training to perform the job successfully.

What you get in return:

  • Paid In-depth training: Aecon takes pride in providing Field Technicians with an in-depth training that prepares them to perform their duties successfully. There will be 3-4 weeks of in-class and on-site training which is paid at $18/hr.
  • Competitive Compensation: The technicians are paid on an hourly rate with a combination of piece-rate compensation plan. The total income can range anywhere between $50K – $80K*.

  • Flexible scheduling options: This position requires some evening and weekend work (no later than 9 pm). We try to rotate weekends amongst the team so you our Technicians have a flexible schedule.
  • The range varies based on number of service calls.

What You’ll Do Here:

Aecon works as a contractor for a leading telecom company in Canada. Our Field Techs install, maintain and repair services for customers (could include TV, Phone, Internet and Alarm). Technicians are dispatched from their homes to various jobs/locations through out the shift. Each job will be slightly different and requires problem solving, technical abilities and customer service skills. This work is done independently with communication to the dispatch team and a support network of other techs and field supervisors to assist with problem solving etc. As services expand our techs are continuously learning and keeping up to date with the newest technology. We provide a robust training program and continuous learning opportunities.

  • Safety Conscious and able to adhere to a highly focused safety culture
  • Deliver exceptional customer experiences and high-quality installations for Alarm, IPTV, Internet and Phone Service in customer’s homes and businesses.
  • Install and repair support for Phone, Internet, Alarm and TV transported over fiber networks
  • Troubleshooting and repair support for Alarm system, TV, Internet and Phone Service transported over fiber, and copper networks
  • Responsible for a geographical area to complete assigned work on a daily basis
  • Be highly adaptable to constantly changing technologies, methods, and procedures

  • Self-motivated and highly organized to manage workloads with minimal direction
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in the English language (Bilingual in certain areas)

  • Comfortable working at heights

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Must be technically inclined and have a desire to learn
  • Installation and repair experience in TV, Phone, Alarm system and Internet as well Fiber is an asset but not required
  • Must be willing to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
  • Comfortable working at heights
  • Maintain a valid provincial driver’s license and provide a driver’s abstract quarterly
  • Must be willing to travel and work in various locations when required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Successfully complete a criminal background check
  • This position requires working in varying heights and spaces in accordance with provincial and federal guideline
  • Comfortable working with computers

Evening and Weekend work is required.
