Fiber Optic Splicer

We are looking for an experienced Fiber Optic Splicer to join our team in San Diego, CA.

As a Fiber Optic Splicer, you will use your skills and best practices to splice, connect, repair, and maintain existing fiber cables for delivering telecommunications services while working in a dynamic environment!

Responsibilities:

• Perform splicing, testing, and repairing of fiber distribution cables;
• Perform OTDR and Power Meter Testing;
• Read and build from blueprints and/or wire diagrams;
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment after installation;
• Safely operate and use a bucket truck to complete daily construction (splicing) assignments as needed (potentially climb poles) in a timely/effective/safe manner;
• Operate all vehicles, equipment, and tools while adhering to company safety standards;
• Complete daily inspections and reporting of maintenance issues on assigned vehicles, trailers, and equipment (test sets, hand tools, and other assets);
• Perform other splicing-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of Fiber Optic Splicing experience;
• Knowledge of telecommunications network structure;
• A valid, unrestricted Driver’s License;
• Ability to travel to different job sites;
• Self-motivated, ambitious, and energetic individual, with a proven record of high productivity & performance.
