Fiber Professionals
About Our Company
Are you ready to be a part of a company you can believe in, with managers and team members who also believe in you?
We are a fiber optic splicing company, providing splicing and testing services for utility companies throughout the West Coast. We are a growing company, with our key focus on being professional in everything we do for our clients. We are seeking the best of you to fill our traveling fiber optic splicing technician position.
Company Culture
Our internal culture is the foundation for this professional focus. For all employees and managers, we have strict requirements for being responsible always, respectful to all, honest 100% of the time, humble, and willing to grow and learn every day, while also being confident in our abilities as a professional team. This a drama-free company, a place where all team members look out for each other’s success and the success of the team. Our team members don’t have a manager or foreman telling them everything to do. They are required to be self-motivated, and operate as leaders themselves when needed.
A Typical Day
The typical day as a traveling technician throughout Washington, Oregon, and Idaho will have you working as an outside plant technician, being outside 90% of the time. This means rain, cold weather, hot weather, roadside work near traffic, etc. You will get dirty, as our splice locations are sometimes in manholes, dirty and muddy locations, etc. You will need to operate a bucket truck as well, being that some of our locations are aerial.
You’ll be prepping cable, building new splice cases, troubleshooting continuity issues, splicing the fibers, and testing those splices. The ultimate goal is to bring service to neighborhoods that don’t currently have fiber optic internet service. It is rewarding work, but requires strong work ethic and a can-do attitude for success.
Compensation
In exchange for these high ethical, work, and behavioral expectations, we compensate our professionals at top pay within the industry. Most team members are paid piece-work, based on the high-quality work that they complete. There is no income cap. The more efficient and productive our team members are, the more money they make. For a serious professional who is ready to take their fiber splicing career seriously, this might be the place for you. A skilled professional willing to travel and work extra hours can make $150K a year…even more. The minimal hourly expectation we have for our top technicians ranges from $35-$50 per hour. During training your pay will be $20-$25 per hour, based on experience.
Travel Requirements
This position will require you to work throughout the northwest area predominantly, with periodic travel to other states.
Daily and Weekly Schedules
Everyone’s life is different. Some people operate better at 6am in the morning, others enjoy producing late into the night. Some have families and home obligations, others can go on the road for months at a time. We don’t set the schedule for our team…they set their own schedules. As long as the work is completed timely for our clients and it meets quality requirements, then that’s all that matters. Freedom in schedule is important to achieve the work-life balance we feel is critical to truly being a successful professional.
