ACME Technical Services would like to add experienced Fiber Optic Technicians/Fiber Splicers to our expanding team.

Requirements

  • 3+ year of fiber splicing and network construction experience – installing, repairing and testing fiber cable in a variety of environments (underground, indoor, aerial)
  • Experience using tools and systems related to UG and Aerial Communications Network Construction and understanding of outside plant UG and aerial plant pathways and cable installation methodologies
  • Experience working in Manholes required
  • Experience working with OPGW
  • Fiber optic cable handling, termination, splicing and documentation
  • Plan/map reading and Communications Network Documentation experience
  • Experience using fusion splicers
  • Ribbonizing
  • Ability to terminate cable utilizing a variety of connectors
  • Proficient in performing testing utilizing OTDRs, Power Meter/Light Sources and VFLs and documenting
  • Ability to troubleshoot fiber networks
  • Ability to work in remote locations
  • Ability to lift 50LBs and work in confined spaces
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Able to drive and operate Utility trucks
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving history
  • Must be willing to travel for extended periods of time
  • Willing to work overnights, weekends, holidays if required
  • Ability to challenge and pass CFOT certification exam

Salary: $25.00-$32.00 per hour
