Fiber Optic Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Outside Plant Fiber Optic Fusion Splicing.
• Read and comprehend technical schematics, operations manuals, maintenance instructions and procedures
• Maintain the company’s high standards of quality and professionalism with regards to workmanship, customer relations and team members.
• Adhere to all required project specifications as well as company safety requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Network Cabling Licensed Technicians or Registered Apprentices preferred.
• Proficient in fusion splicing and OTDR Testing
• Minimum 3 years of communications experience.
• Experience with Fiber and Copper Network Cabling installations required.
• Experience in IP based security, CCTV, and Networking an asset.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Post-secondary education in the Technologies Trade(s) an asset.

Salary: Up to $41.81 per hour

Schedule:

2 weeks working, one week off rotation.

Ability to commute/relocate:

• All work is out of town, must be able to travel with all expenses paid.

• telecommunication: 2 years (preferred)
