Fiber Splicer

Our large telecommunications client is looking for Fiber Splicers to join their team in the Beltway Region. You will, with guidance, splice conductor cables, climb utility poles or towers, utilize a truck-mounted lift-bucket or descend into underground vaults. You will cut sheath from installed cable to gain access to defective cable connections as well as cut and peel sheath and insulation from newly installed cable and conductors. You will Test (trace or phase out) each conductor to identify corresponding conductors in adjoining cables, read and interpret (i.e. mechanical, electrical, digital) drawings, maps, blueprints diagrams, etc.

They are looking for splicers in Hanover, MD, Bishopville, MD and Laurel, DE

Requirements

– 3+ years’ experience in true splicing experience, including work with fiber cable construction, splicing and repair
– Possess a valid standard Driver’s License or Class A Commercial Driver’s license
– 3+ years’ construction experience in the telecommunications industry
– Comfortability with hand tools including cable jacket strippers, crimpers and diagnostic equipment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year

Experience:

• Fiber splicing: 3 years (Preferred)
