Fibre Optic Technician

Jay-Smart Technologies is a growing business providing telecommunication builds and services to partners across Western Canada.

We are currently looking to hire fibre optic technicians to join our growing team.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Must have a high school diploma
• Must be able to work days, evenings or weekend shifts as required depending on project
• Class 5 Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract

• Must adhere to Jay-Smart’s health and safety standards
• Must have a valid and clean driver’s license
• Must be physically able to carry 50 lbs
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
• Previous experience with fiber to the home aerial drop connections is a requirement

Job Description:

• Reporting on completed telecommunication work to team leads and project managers
• Perform right of way assessments to determine drop paths for telecom infrastructure
• Reviewing engineering plans and drawings

Assets to have:

• Cable installs in aerial, conduit and buried capacity in fibre optics and telecommunications
• Ability to work in different weather conditions
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to read engineering plans and drawings
• Proficiency in using laptops and Google suite and Microsoft office programs
• Use of locating equipment and fibre testing tools

The work is across the lower mainland and at times in other areas of British Columbia. Candidates will report to site in Delta to start the day.

Salary: $900.00-$1,100.00 per week

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift
• 8 hour shift

Experience:

• Telecommunications Infrastructure Technicians: 1 year (preferred)
