Due to an internal move, a great opportunity has arisen in the Diversionary works team! As a Fixed Networks Specialist within Fibre Services you will be responsible for the Fundamental and detail planning of the Vodafone Network Fibre Layer to support Customer Delivery, Core Project Build, Assure and Diversionary Works requirements. This is not your ordinary Fibre Planner role.
What you will be doing
- Review received C3 costing requests, confirm deliverables and indicative timescales/costs to requestor within agreed statutory time scale.
- Review and validate C4/C6 requests, liaise with Highway Authorities and Private sponsors of diversionary works confirm scope.
- Identify affected cables, schedule outage dates and confirm requirements to partner design organisation, Instigating detailed, on site design and survey
- Review output, check fibre layer compliance, confirm received Costs/Deliverables to Sponsor for approval
- Instruct partner organisation to proceed with delivery
- Update Vodafone Fibre Inventory Systems and Order Management System
- Assist in Account reconciliation
- Regular commentary and updates to internal and external stakeholders
- As required undertake direct survey, design and works packages for onward issue
- Physical site surveys will also be important to understand the complexities of the works to be completed so you will be required to undertake site visits on a regular basis.
Who are we looking for?
- Experience within Fibre Planning or a similar role within a telecoms build environment.
- Full valid driving licence.
- NRSWA accredited
- Familiarity with databases and their use
- Experience of Auto cad (or other GIS software)
- An understanding of telephony distribution systems
- An understanding of Wayleaves and Easements and the Telecommunications code
- An understanding of civils construction practice and regulations (NRSWA)
- An understanding of CDM & relevant H&S regulations
- An understanding of Diversionary Works COP – highly beneficial
Upskilling will be provided for individuals with Fibre Planning experience looking to progress to a more complex role within Diversionary Works.
- note that candidates must be eligible to undertake vetting to obtain MoD SC clearance for this role. Candidates must be able to demonstrate UK residency for a minimum of 5 years.
