General Description

We are looking for an exceptional Field Application Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate has a can-do attitude, a commitment to lifelong learning, and is passionate about new technologies. In this role, you will provide specialized engineering knowledge to enable a successful customer experience with our products. You will maintain relationships with clients from the pre-sale stage through post-deployment support.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the internal sales team in the pursuit of new business opportunities by providing technical explanations to prospective customers.
• Identify, recommend and justify solutions for a variety lighting control applications.
• Understand the requirements and constraints imposed by the electrical building code on commercial lighting control systems.
• Support post-deployment activities by addressing customer issues or questions.
• Conduct customer training sessions.
• Review and annotate architectural drawings, end-user requirements, project specifications and technical design documents to establish the compliance of our products with a given sales opportunity.
• Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to document defects and author new requirements.
• Leverage client interactions and feedback to improve product quality through enhances testing methodologies.
• Define and apply a systematic methodology to identify and resolve common customer issues in the most efficient manner.

Position Requirements

• An undergraduate degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Networking and Telecommunications or Information and Communication Technology.
• Certification such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Cisco Certification (Entry Level or Higher), Microsoft Azure Database Administrator, Security Engineer or similar accreditation is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a product design or application engineer (field or internal) in both hardware and software domains.
• Ability to explain technical details and requirements to highly technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work under pressure where client issues arise and deadlines need to be met.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Lighting industry experience is beneficial.
• Experience with network performance and cyber-security testing.
• Understanding wireless mesh network topology is beneficial.
• Willingness to travel as required.
