Field Construction Manager

Position Summary:

This position manages and coordinates all on-site construction activities and is the link between the field work and the office, reporting to the Project Manager on daily project status.

• Provide direction and supervision for telecommunication projects
• Ensures on-schedule completion
• Provide updates on construction activity and site status
• Track NTPs and deal with landlords and tower owners coordinating the build schedule
• Review Construction Drawings
• Conduct preconstruction walks
• Scope the sites and create Bill of Materials (BOM)
• Schedule and coordinate with subcontractors
• Verify tower climber certifications are up to date
• Review daily site reports & daily subcontractor JSA’s
• Submit daily progress reports to management
• Attend conference calls with internal or external customers and provide feedback on site issues, site activity, schedule changes, status of site progress, challenges and risks
• Provide on-site construction supervision and solve field problems
• Ensure quality and build installation requirements and standards are being adhered to
• Knowledge of troubleshooting and technology
• Knowledge of sweep, pim, fiber testing requirements
• Provide knowledge and support to the crews working on site to ensure quality control
• Track changes of scope or work and process change orders in timely manner
• Closeout packages
• Perform true-up of scope of work – upscopes and downscopes
