Field Construction Manager
Job Description:
We cover all of Southern California regions and perform new site build and modifications for most of the main cell phone company’s – AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, American Tower, Ericsson, etc. We are a company that prides our self on Safety, Quality, and Performance.
We are currently looking for Full Time experienced Field Construction Manager for long term employment for our Southern California offices.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Organizes and oversees the schedules, training and work of assigned staff.
· Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
· Handles discipline as needed and in accordance with company policy
· Selects, contracts, and oversees contractors for specific needs.
· Supervises each contractor and subcontractor to ensure that work meets quality standards and adheres to specifications.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Manage day to day resources and projects to completion with ultimate responsibility, ensuring that all activities, including site acquisition, regulatory, construction, and permitting are coordinated and completed on time and within budget.
· Travel to multiple job sites in and out of the state, meet with customers, review projects, and prepare estimates for customers.
· Build a respected team; track and manage reviews with assistance from HR and direct manager. Have direct impact on the growth in staffing, revenue, and customers in the region.
· Develop accurate project plan and budget for all assigned projects, modify as needed and direct close-out of completed jobs including the receipt of all required documentation.
· Participate in deployment meetings with other managers and team members to review the status of each job and implement changes as necessary to ensure timely project completion.
· Lead and attend customer meetings to provide customer with comprehensive job status reports and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise.
· Ensure accurate and complete files are maintained for all projects and appropriate close-out documents are distributed in a timely manner in accordance with corporate and customer expectations.
· Work closely with Senior Management and directly engage customers and partners.
· Ensure that all jobs are maintained in a project tracking system with complete accuracy.
· Create, assemble, and verify documentation for billing.
· Ability to work with a variety of personnel, provide leadership, guidance, and actively train and promote learning to develop a successful team atmosphere.
· Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Candidates must have:
· Advanced knowledge of telecommunications.
· Ability to work with teams efficiently and effectively
· Ability to read and understand blueprints.
· Ability to diagnosis workflow problems, critical paths, and institute remedies.
· Ability to read and understand financial metrics and identify remedies to financial issues.
· Customer service orientation with a strong problem-solving approach.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Ability to take direction and implement action.
· Present professional image always.
· A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
· Able to pass a drug screen and physical.
· Willingness to travel
Education and Experience:
Candidates must have:
· 3+ years with AT&T Wireless experience in new build and/or MODS in the Southern California Market.
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in the telecommunications, or related industry
· OSHA 30, NWSA certification, RF Technician Awareness Certification, CPR/First Aid, Manlift/Aerial Platform, Competent Climber & Rescuer
Physical Requirements:
· Must be in good physical condition
· Ability to pull his/her own body weight, plus equipment weight, up a vertical tower to 500 feet repeatedly for long periods of time
· Ability to reach, climb, and/or grasp ladders or other tall structures
· Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
· Ability to work long and unpredictable hours
· Ability to travel away from home up to 75% of the time, including weekends and extended travel. Travel includes local site travel or national travel depending on business needs including overnights as required.
