Summary
Responsible for the detailed planning, estimating and coordination of installation and replacement of reserve power battery systems in the UPS, Telecom and Utility industries.
If candidate has a strong electrical estimating and/or project management background, we are willing to train in DC and battery technology areas.
If a candidate has a strong Lead Field Technician background, we are willing to train in planning, estimating and coordination of a project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain detailed project plans.
Coordinate project details and estimate manpower requirements.
Coordinate with Project Coordinator and Operations Manager as required to maintain continuity between field and engineering.
Develop intended scope of work and methods of procedure according to project requirements.
Develop detailed material list required for execution of project scope.
Specify project materials and source utilizing preferred vendors and cost considerations.
Travel to customer sites as required performing site surveys and meetings based on project needs.
Follow up with customers shortly after a project is quoted to verify receipt and if they have any questions pertaining to the bid.
Review drawings for proposed layout and system configurations.
Prepare quotes in SalesForce for bidding process.
Develop processes and procedures to help streamline business needs.
Liaison for subcontractors on assigned project.
Mentor the project team.
Conducts all activity in a safe manner by adhering to policies and procedure, such as, environmental, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and warranty.
For southern division Project Engineer, attend southern division office, project meetings/open job reviews as scheduled.
Must participate and successfully complete all training as required by the company.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Skills, and/or Experience
Technical or Associate’s degree with 2+ years’ related experience or 5+ years in a Lead Field Tech position. Demonstrated estimator, project management and supervisory skills. Strong collaboration skills. Knowledge of electrical AC single and three phase power systems. Knowledge of DC battery systems preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Self-starter. Ability to travel to customer sites to perform site surveys and attend project meetings as required. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), plus the ability to learn company used applications (SalesForce).
