We have an exciting opportunity in Gaithersburg, MD for our Field Sales Optics position. This position is responsible for driving revenue and market share growth with existing key accounts, and aggressively targeting new accounts within assigned territory (USA, Canada, Latin America).
Your role and Responsibilities:
- Develop, coordinate, and execute market-based strategy for Optics within assigned territory.
- Analyze market trends and competitive positions to provide Americas inputs into global business and product development strategies.
- Direct sales visits to customers and prospects for both personal accounts and team-managed accounts with and without technical Product Management support.t
- Plan and report sales visits and follow ups.
- Partner with internal departments (Product Management, R&D, Engineering, Quality, and Operations) to ensure client satisfaction.
- Identify prospects through to sales competition using CRM reporting.
- Prepare sales forecasts, annual budgets, and report performances against outlined budget.
- Support the development and implementation of MARCOM activities, including advertising, exhibitions, direct mail, and press release programs for product area.
- Communicate tasks, methods, and results through direct and written reports within CRM, SAP, and Excel.
- Manage small sales team, including conducting performance reviews direct reports.
What is Required for this Role:
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Chemistry/Physical Sciences, or equivalent required.
- Minimum 4 years sales experience and strong motivation for sales/sales forecasting.
- Minimum 2-3 years sales experience selling capital equipment, preferably in the analytical instrument market.
- Previous experience in technical sales a plus (components and/or systems).
- Experience with CRM (MS Dynamics preferred) and ERP (SAP preferred).
- Strong knowledge of High Performance / Pressure Liquid Chromatography.
- Working knowledge of Ion Chromatography, Explosive and Narcotics Trace Detection and Gas Chromatography instrument business.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to establish and grow long-term customer relationships.
- Proven record of achieving top and bottom-line growth results in technical markets.
- Strong acumen for approaching and accomplishing assigned goals and objectives.
- Organizational skills and sharp attention to detail required.
- Ability to travel overnight 5-10 nights per month (mix of short and long trips).

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
