Our headquarters is located in Carlsbad, CA. The job of Field Technical and Service Representative is a full-time position.
Main Objective:
A field technical service representative is responsible for supporting Pro Spot Equipment, helping clients install, repair, and maintain equipment. Accountable for showing customers how to use their equipment, troubleshooting the equipment, advising the customer on how to use the equipment, building relationships with customers, and following company procedures. Responsible for providing customer on-site and telephone support, including preventative maintenance, warranty repair, and technical support. Create reports of customer service calls and weekly activities. This position requires an innovative thinker, self-motivated, mechanically inclined, problem-solving abilities, and basic electrical knowledge.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Will have to work independently at the customer’s business.
- Provide on-site and telephone support to end users in the area being covered.
- Must have the ability to use essential hand tools.
- Able to read and understand equipment manuals.
- Must follow all of Pro Spot corporate accounts service quote procedures before completing the work.
- Must pass the associated tests for each piece of equipment covered during training.
- Perform preventative maintenance, installations, and upgrades on Pro Spot equipment out in the field.
- Responsible for accurately maintaining a parts inventory and returning defective parts promptly.
- Create service reports.
- Follow the company’s procedures in the employee handbook and supporting documentation.
- Work with Technical Services Manager on making equipment/design changes on equipment based on recurring issues seen in the field.
- Work with the Technical Services Manager on creating instructions for field replacement/fixes on equipment.
- Demonstrate to end users how to use the equipment.
- Trade Show participation / set up / tear down / working the show floor.
- Meet all of the appointments on a given day.
- Respond quickly to customer problems.
- Make equipment recommendations to customers.
- Daily travel is required.
- Responsible for upkeep and regular maintenance on Pro Spot Van where applicable.
- You must be a responsible and safe driver.
- Work with the customer service team to efficiently handle customer issues.
- Due to frequent traveling, must use the mobile office setting and equipment effectively to interact with clients and the management team.
- Accountable for upgrading equipment, including applicable software, hardware, and data telecommunications network equipment.
- Must have good communication skills to interact with internal and external customers.
- Must have good time management skills.
- Learn and adhere to all Company travel and expense policies.
- Receive shipments, open each box, identify physical products against pack slip, and check for damages.
- Keep a record of pack slips received.
- Receive product into ERP system (Plex), generate stock labels, and place on parts for identification (when applicable)
- Maintain the movement of inventory to the staging areas of the warehouse (when applicable).
- Contact the Shipping and Accounting Departments and resolve any shipping issues.
- Performs all job functions safely, following all established safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Two years of experience in a similar role or two years of technical degree preferred or equivalent in a related field.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated
- Ability to lift to 55 pounds.
- Ability to stand on your feet up to 8 hours a day.
- Excellent communication skills to work with customers.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- A technical degree is preferred.
- Ability to diagnose problems with equipment.
- Great mechanical aptitude.
- Basic electrical knowledge (preferred)
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Must be able to stand, sit or bend for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in non-climate controlled work areas such as hot, cold, and humid conditions.
- Must have basic computer skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 – $27.00 per hour
