Field Technician

Description:

Telecommunication client is looking for a Sr. Technician to assist in the roll out, provisioning, maintenance, monitoring, repair and development of its lit services network and services. This candidate will be focused on maintaining, troubleshooting and installing their network services such as ethernet, IP, VPLS and MPLS services in the NJ/NY market. This person will need 5 years experience and will be a contract t hire.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Provisioning a range of Ethernet, DWDM, IP and other lit services products and services as the Company expands beyond its service offering.
• Working with the sales group to introduce, explain and sell such products to the Company’s customers.
• Managing equipment vendors
• Installing and configuring Ethernet, DWDM, IP and other lit services products.
• Troubleshooting and isolating any technical or logical issues that may arise during service deployment.
• Managing network monitoring systems and using those systems to monitor services provided to customers.
• Troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing the Company’s lit services network as necessary.
• Recording and tracking network elements in the Company’s network inventory system (currently OSP Insight).
• Conducting planned and emergency network maintenance as required.
• Maintaining knowledge of industry and emerging technology trends within the telecommunications industry.
