Field Technician

East West Staffing, Inc. (EWS) is currently seeking a Field Engineer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering Utility/Outside Plant (OSP) field data collection in various locations. The candidate will visit multiple job locations daily and collect, record, and analyze existing field conditions related to aerial cables and poles, Underground structures such as handholes and manholes, cabinets and terminals and Street/Right of Way measurements.

Requirements of the Field Engineer

• Utility construction in an outside plant environment preferred.
• Reading and analyzing utility work prints preferred.
• Aerial, underground or buried telecom infrastructure knowledge preferred.
• Past field data collection experience
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, clean driving record and reliable transportation is required
• Experience in power distribution engineering or craft or GIS/CAD work

Responsibilities of the Field Engineer

• Travel to multiple job locations daily to collect data for proposed designs for field accuracy and propose adjustments as needed.
• Take notes, field measurements and photos of utility poles, equipment, cables, proposed equipment locations and existing customer telecommunications equipment rooms.
• Interact with the on-site customer to determine preconstruction/ installation requirements and complete all necessary Site Visit Checklists and other related documents.
• Walk and work outdoors daily, in different weather conditions.
• Develop skills to safely make job-site visits and interact with construction personnel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,600.00 – $47,021.56 per year
