Maintech provides computer system and LAN/WAN services to mission critical, multi-vendor, multi-site applications in the Financial, Telecommunications and Research and Development markets. Maintech’s broad spectrum of IT design, procurement, project management and maintenance services, includes 24/7 managed network and systems support.
We have a temporary opening for a technical professional to function as a Field Technician. We are looking for a self-motivated, dedicated individual who is ready to put their technical skills to work in a fast-paced, customer focused environment. Utilizing your technical knowledge, you will have the responsibility of responding to customer calls in a timely and efficient manner to troubleshoot, analyze and diagnose Dell, IBM and HP servers in a critical environment. You will provide problem resolution or refer more complex issues to a Sr. Support Engineer. Maintenance of inventory and documentation of activity will demonstrate strong organizational skills. Standby/On-call is a requirement of the position.
Job Description
· Analyzes, diagnoses, and troubleshoots hardware/server, storage array, printer, and tape library issues with focus on responsiveness; provides issue resolution.
· Maintains inventory and documentation of activity.
· Escalates more complex issues to 2nd level.
· Provides 1st level 24/7 break-fix support for IT hardware as specified by or utilized in customer environment.
· Familiarity with desktop support and deployment
· Provide project support as well as on-call support for incoming tickets
Required Skills
· Experience with server break fix background on Dell/HP and IBM X86 servers and the ability to describe troubleshooting process on those platforms
· Troubleshooting skills on hardware and the ability to verbalize the steps in the process
· Desktop skills including Win 10 migration, imaging, and troubleshooting
· Tech should have experience in call tracking platforms. 3-5 years of practical experience in Break fix, at a minimum
· Tech needs to be organized in keeping parts inventory in place.
· Candidate must be able to function without direct supervision
· Oracle server experience a plus
Education
· Server certification is a plus
· Technical school training a plus
Additional Information
The position is supporting the hardware break fix requirements in the Ashburn area with a radius of 2-hour drive. The technician will work from home until a requirement is needed on site. Technician will be supporting multiple clients and locations.
The position is Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, On call after hours and weekends mandatory.
