The TELUS Finance team supporting People & Culture (P&C) and Corporate Citizenship & Communications (CC&C) is a highly engaged and motivated team supporting two enabling business units within TELUS. As a high-performing Financial Analyst III (FA III) within our team, you will be the finance partner supporting four Vice Presidents within P&C and work collaboratively with our Senior Financial Analysts to support the P&C business unit overall. Leveraging your knowledge in financial analysis and forecasting, you will provide dynamic and timely insights for our key stakeholders, identifying risks and opportunities within the business and driving TELUS profitability. Here’s how

Each day you will bring your A-game to the field of Finance:
Month-End & Reporting:
Work cohesively with our team to produce financial and key performance indicator (KPI) reporting with variances explanations on a monthly basis

Partner with P&C primes and key stakeholders to ensure policy and control adherence, sufficiently mitigating financial & reporting risks to TELUS

Analyze past results, identify trends and make recommendations for improvements to our forecasts and processes with automation where appropriate

Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations with attention to detail and providing insights into variances and movements in the period

Forecasting:
Support in the preparation of the monthly rolling forecast (“Triage”) which includes operating expenses and headcount/full-time employee (FTE) forecasts for P&C

Support with the preparation of Annual Budget & Strat Check (long-term model) including operating expenses and headcount/FTE forecasts for P&C

Analyze past results, identify trends and make recommendations for improvements to our forecasts and processes and improve accuracy

Ad-hoc:
Develop a strong understanding of business processes and operations to create and present organizational information and financial reports to P&C members and senior leadership including P&C Vice Presidents & Directors

Develop effective business relationships with stakeholders at all levels and serve as the Opex prime to the business unit teams

Provide insightful analysis and decision support for ad hoc request from P&C business partners

You’re the missing piece of the puzzle

Minimum 3-5 years of relevant analytical experience

Business Finance or Accounting related degree

Completion of a professional accounting designation (CPA).

Experience with month-end close work, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations and controls monitoring & remediation

Exceptional in-depth Microsoft (MS) Excel skills

Strong knowledge of MS PowerPoint

Great-to-haves

Experience in the telecommunications, Security and/or technology sector

Experience with SAP and Hyperion

Experience with GSuite
