Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the person we are looking for will be responsible for providing expertise, methodology and leadership to the team of analysts. This position will allow you to fully understand and process transactions with accounting implications for the company, an undeniable asset for your career.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare consolidation spreadsheet, the monthly consolidation financial statements including the cash flow statement, as well as internal reports;
• Assist the preparation of quarterly MD&A and financial statements including the notes within timelines;
• Perform controls relating to the production of financial information and prepare supporting documentation;
• Prepare complex month-end journal entries which may include: intercompany recharges, fixed asset depreciation, leases, accruals, prepaid amortization, stock based compensation, accounting netting and derivative reporting
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement variances and provide insightful commentary with appropriate business context
• Ensure IFRS compliance when comes to book closing and reporting processes
• Participate in the monthly closing of general ledgers;
• Prepare information required for the year-end audit;
• Propose innovations which contribute to the improvement of financial processes;
• Participate and be an ambassador of change management, and this will be related to his/her involvement in the various initiatives⁄ projects underway.
• Intervene in the optimization of business processes through his organizing skills.
• Offer support related to adhoc investigations that may be required by certain stakeholders or other members of the finance team.

Profile:

• Accounting title (CPA, CA certification) or CPA candidate having successfully passed the CFE;
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS) and proficiency in Excel is required;
• Excellent analytical and strong communication skills;
• Ability to work independently handling multiple deliverables simultaneously;
• Minimum of 3 years working in an accounting role with at least one year of financial reporting;
• Bilingual (French and English);
• Strong ability to assimilate information technology;
• Resourcefulness and ability to work under pressure;
• Team player.
