About This Job
As a fire alarm system installer, you will work at new-build construction sites and other locations to properly wire, set up, test, and service fire alarm and suppression systems. Experience in electrical wiring is a big plus!
Note: this employer is felony-friendly for candidates with nonviolent backgrounds. Some charges, including arson, are not eligible for hire.
Primary Responsibilities
- Installation, start-up, testing, service, and repair of specialized safety systems
- Work on fire alarm, fire detection, fire suppression, and leak detection systems
- Focus on “special application” areas of fire detection and suppression, including mission-critical, telecommunications, broadband, and semiconductor systems
- Occasional assistance with service and inspections crew on existing systems
Job Requirements
Ideal candidates for this advanced position will have the following:
- Experience working with fire alarm systems
- Experience installing Honeywell, Notifier, and / or Fike fire alarm systems
- A great attendance record
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to read, understand, and follow plans
- Ability to lay out crew and plan ahead
- Attention to details and record-keeping
- Certification installing fire alarm systems is a plus
- Experience installing Xtralis VESDA Aspirating Smoke Detection (ASD) systems is a plus
- Mission-critical facilities experience is a plus
- 1-3 years of commercial electrical experience is preferred
