Telecon Design Inc
The Team Lead, Design is responsible to collect, analyze and organize basic engineering data as well as act as a point of contact for design related issues within the team. The Team Lead, Design will then use the Engineering data to develop design layouts and all engineering documentation required for submission of completed functional design drawings by required deadline.
This is a Hybrid work opportunity which requires a blend of in-office work (in Vaughan) and some remote work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create new and innovative methods to improve the quality of company’s drawings and the drawing process;
- Interface with third party organizations as required;
- Manage internal activities with the functional groups to ensure that all aspects of the projects are completed in an acceptable timeframe
- Sets project schedules and provides regular updates to Project Manager
- Follows support documents, schematics and procedural manuals to ensure adherence to client’s standards
- Set the expected (internal and external) standard
- Understand and communicate what the design requirements are
- Responsible for quality control prior to project delivery
- Train and develop talent from within the team
- Adheres to the budget, understands how to ensure profitability is being met
- Any and all other duties as assigned in order to meet Company objectives.
REQUIREMENTS
- Civil Engineering or Electrical or Architectural Technology diploma is preferred or equivalent work experience;
- Comprehensive understanding of Bell network, both RF and Fibre to allow for additional interface between client and company
- 3 – 4’ experience in design and drafting;
- Experience producing Municipal Engineering Drawings is an asset;
- Telecommunications Experience, Auto-Cad, NetX, Micro-Station, Utility Design an asset;
- Must be Proficient with AutoCAD Version 2004 or higher;
- Familiar with CSA standards, specifically CSA 22.3;
- Comfortable using Paper Space / Model Space;
- Able to read site drawings;
- Have experience digitizing plans;
- Follow standard drawing and printing procedures as set out by the client;
- Abilities in planning and organizing to meet scheduled deadlines.
