FTTx Construction Project Manager

Viaero Fiber Networks is currently looking for an experienced FTTx Construction Project Manager to join the Fiber Planning and Deployment team. We are looking for a qualified candidate that has knowledge of telecommunications, fiber distribution and fiber engineering in both business and residential projects. This candidate must have experience in underground and aerial Fiber telecommunications projects. We’re looking for a confident, self-reliant leader to install and manage our infrastructure solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Investigate various field conditions and develop procedures for designing and installing new service to Single and Multitenant Family Homes, Business and Cell sites
• Assist with planning and deployment of FTTx designs
• Coordinate with grant writers, legal counsel, and transport design engineers relative to grant projects
• Coordination with AutoCAD and Design engineers in proper designing of the underground or aerial route(s) for each project
• Onsite manage the placement of conduit, handholes, fiber optic cables, install cross connect patches
• Installation and Splicing of Field Distribution Cabinets, Splitter Cabinets and Splice Cases along side of other team members and conduct full circuit OTDR testing
• Adhere to scheduled timelines for all aspects of the project along with meeting milestone production dates
• Confirm and provide accurate project splicing and testing documentation along with fiber tracking fiber assignments
• Service drop installation
• Adhere to Viaero’s Fiber optic testing procedures
• Manage and coordinate with other departments on circuit turn-up and project acceptance
• Provide weekly status reporting
• Improve the customer install and turn-up procedures on a continuous basis

Qualifications:

• Three + years in fiber optic design, management and/or installations
• Experience in underground and aerial Fiber telecommunications projects
• Experience in project management. PMP certification is a plus!
• Knowledge of telecommunications, fiber distribution and fiber engineering in both business and residential projects
• High School diploma or equivalent. Additional related training and certifications is a plus
• Ambitious, creative problem solver, ability to learn quickly, and motivate others
• Capable of analyzing results
• Experience with detailed engineering plans including conduit routes, handhole locations, and cabinet locations is a plus
• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds, and frequently bend, crouch, stoop, reach.
• Must be able to sit, drive and walk/stand for long periods.
• Must be able to be outside for long periods of time in all weather conditions
• Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and be able to pass all pre-employment processes, including substance screen, MVR checks and criminal check.
