The role of Global Program Director is a key function of our Datacenter Integration and Technical Infrastructure Management (ITIM) team.
This team is responsible for managing colo fit-out efforts (telecom, electrical, mechanical, and ancillary spaces) within our datacenter portfolio as well as delivering critical infrastructure capacity to our businesses.
In this role you will be responsible for working with regional leaders to develop and drive further efficiencies and learnings throughout our global portfolio, improving cycle times, costs, execution and delivery approaches. Responsibilities will include building KPI/metrics, gathering/reporting data that shows overall program health. You will participate in program development initiatives throughout our datacenter construction and integration teams, that will focus on creating and/or improving existing processes as well as driving program efficiencies in line with our Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) core pillars and priorities.
You will assist in developing and maintaining strong business and operational practices for regional & global teams as well as aligning expectations and requirements with key stakeholders. Responsibilities will also include conducting “lesson learned”, “Lean” and “Kaizen” initiatives with our regional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Building and cultivate strong working relationships with key stakeholders across our entire datacenter planning and execution teams (design, acquisitions, procurement, operations), be a trusted advisor and advocate, promoting our “One Microsoft Approach” and embracing strong corporate values.
  • Generate insights based on operating performances and results that will help drive and influence future organization decisions and direction.
  • Define and track the success criteria and performance metrics (e.g., Objective and Key Results [OKRs] and Key Performance Indicators [KPIs]), such as site safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Develop and execute a strategic and tactical roadmap for transformational efforts that drive further improvements in meeting business objectives as well as employee experiences and growth.
  • Maintain business standardization, continuity, and process control efforts across global and regional teams.
  • Work collaboratively with a highly impactful global team across our datacenter execution and delivery business to support Operational Excellence and execute high impact process improvements.
  • Track initiatives, agreeing improvements, creating deliverables, and tracking these through successful completion.
  • Partnering with Regional Leaders, ensure adherence to business commitments, processes, and policies.
  • Act as primary lead for all “first of kind” (FoK) program launches. Formalizing key requirements, success criteria and scopes of work, our global teams will be responsible for managing and executing against.
  • Participate in quarterly and monthly governance and operational review meetings with key stakeholders and global supply partners.


Qualifications


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, computer science, construction management or similar work experience.
  • At least 10 years’ experience developing and/or managing Global programs.
  • Strong communication skills are a MUST.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Must be able to work both independently as well as collaboratively within globally diverse teams and individuals.
  • Experience managing large scale enterprise programs/projects supported by localized and virtual teams.
  • Must be able to work within a dynamic team environment made of full-time employees, vendors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • High personal standard to deliver a thoughtful, polished and quality work product

  • Microsoft Cloud Screen Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Screen background check upon hire/transfer and every two years after that while in this role.
