Join us on our new and exciting fibre venture as the Head of FibreCo Contract Management (HoD). You will be responsible for ensuring that Virgin Media 02 (VM02) delivers the Master Service Agreement (MSA) and obligations to the new fibre joint venture.
The HoD will manage the MSA and associated schedules, providing commercial, financial, performance and contractual management. You’ll need to successfully establish and lead collaborative C-level governance forums with stakeholder engagement across VMO2 and Opal.
In addition to this, the successful candidate will manage a wider team responsible for financial management including invoicing, forecasting/budgeting, demand management and liquidated damages. The team will also be overseeing all commercial/contractual management including governance, negotiation of new services and contract change.
To succeed in this role, the HoD must work in conjunction with the internal stakeholders, with the objective of ensuring that the services provided are managed and measured according to the agreed contractual commitments.
We are open to location across Reading, Hammersmith, Manchester and Birmingham. The successful candidate must be comfortable travelling to and from each site when required for team and collaborative meetings.
Who we are
Our shareholders and investment partners have recently announced the creation of a new fibre joint venture, which aims to provide up to 7 million premises with a new wholesale full fibre network. This incredible move represents our significant commitment to the UK and a boost to the nation’s digital economy at a crucial time.
This is going to be HUGE! The partnership will initially roll out fibre to 5 million homes not currently served by Virgin Media O2’s network by 2026, with the opportunity to expand to an additional 2 million homes. This new fibre venture, alongside VMO2’s existing network, will offer greater wholesale choice to other operators across the country.
The must haves
In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;
  • Previous experience managing, leading and developing a team of direct and indirect reports.
  • Proven track record in creation, selling and implementation of strategic initiatives within supply markets.
  • Experience working within Telecoms, Cable or similar industry.
  • Proven experience in commercial management and negotiation skills in a complex customer environment and/or joint venture.
  • Demonstrable experience managing a variety of sized partners delivering mixed services, from support contracts through to outsource service contracts.
The other stuff we’re looking for
We’d also love you to bring;
  • Preferred degree level or equivalent in a commercial area such as business studies, finance, sourcing and service management, or demonstrable working experience within a similar environment.
  • Ability to credibly interface at the most senior levels (Director, MD, COO) internally and externally within the procurement, customer groups or peer operator groups.
  • Proficient in standard office applications with reporting/analytical experience.
  • Experience in conflict and dispute resolution activities with both internal and external influences.
What’s in it for you?
We know that benefits mean so much more than the ‘stuff’ we can give you, so we offer a wide range of support, rewards and tools – all focused on helping you to prioritise what really matters.
All work and no play just isn’t our style! We’re already planning our future ways of working, for when life becomes a little more normal again. We’re constantly evolving our approach to enable you to find a great work life balance.
Next steps
If we feel like a place where you can belong, we’d love to learn more about you. Once you’ve submitted an application the next steps of the process, if successful, are likely to include a three part interview process with the hiring panel.
When you apply, you’ll be asked about any adjustments you might need to support the recruitment process. Let us know, and we’ll be sure to discuss it with you. Thanks for your patience in the meantime and for showing an interest in joining the Virgin Media O2 family.
