THE ROLE

The Head of Finance Control has overall responsibility for the end-to-end coordination of all internal and external reporting requirements for all the operating countries in Europe, This includes the audits in four core countries. You’ll develop and manage the financial processes with all internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely, complete and accurate reporting. The Head of Finance Control is responsible for driving the scalability of the Finance department to support the growth of the organisation in a compliant manner.

You’ll have responsibility for working capital management – with the support of the Finance Control team (AP management) and the Credit Control manager (AR management) – and cash flow management. You’ll be responsible for creating and maintaining proper frameworks for risk management, internal control and tax, where needed further leveraging with experts in wider Shell.

This Is How You’ll Contribute

• Ensure all reporting and accounting activities comply with financial regulations delivering quality reporting externally and to the Shell Group
• Ensure the quality of the figures with appropriate measures and internal control initiatives
• Responsible for general day-to-day management & long term planning of the department, and oversees operation, sets goals and objectives, and designs a framework for these to be met
• Oversee the development, implementation and documentation of business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen the quality of reporting
• Manages the integration of certain financial processes with the mother company
• Correspond with various other departments, discussing company plans and performance, and agreeing on future paths to be taken to implement those plans
• Build a close relationship with Business Control and Commercial Finance to support the financial discipline and profitability of the company
• Manage (the relationship with) third party financial and tax consultants, independent accountants, external audit bodies and experts in the wider Shell where needed
• Manage bigger projects to implement and enhance the use of tools and frameworks to increase the quality, efficiency and scalability of the financial processes
• Managing a community of Financial Controllers, Accountants, credit controllers and internal control specialist(s), and empowers and supports them in their (work) achievements
• Create an effective working environment, sets clear time windows and articulate clear expectations regarding the work and project quality.
• Develop, coach and inspires the wider team in order to ensure a great place to work and develop. Ensure high-quality personal development plans in the team based on personal assessments ensuring continuous development of skills, quality, and capacity of staff

Requirements

• Have set up a seamlessly working financial reporting process that deals with the dynamic EV charging business at scale and in a compliant way
• Drive improvements by steering and influencing the business, based on
• High quality reporting with relevant deep dives
• Proactive drive of compliance to competitive advantage
• Optimise working capital by steering on the right requirements
• Develop the team and individuals with functional expertise, industry knowledge, and soft/leadership skills.

The person we’re looking for will..

Have Experience Of…

• Improving financial reporting, internal control framework, tools and processes
• Creating proper frameworks supportive to the quality of the process
• Balancing strategic with operational; being able to see the big picture, and ensure execution to that vision
• Managing different teams and leading a broad set of stakeholders
• Experience with ERP implementation/migration
• Operating in both a scale-up and large corporate environment (preferred)
• Working in an Agile environment (preferred)
• Experience in EV or telecom a pre

Be skilled at …

• Excellent knowledge of data analysis and reporting
• A solid understanding of financial processes and accounting principles
• Translating needs into an executable plan within your area of expertise
• Collaborating effectively and professionally with all levels of employees and management while being highly achievement oriented / solution driven
• Influencing others to deliver without direct authority
• Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.

Have Knowledge Of/qualifications In…

• Bachelor or Master’s Degree in area of Finance, Economics or Business Administration; RA/CPA preferred
• 10+ years of experience with multiple years in a senior-level Finance position
