Head of Sales Operations – Telecommunication

Holt Executive are currently partnered with a global technology/ Connectivity organization to support a critical Head of Sales Operations – Telecommunications hire.

Our partner is at the forefront of innovating and challenging the technology space by providing a full global connectivity solution, servicing the Mobility, Enterprise, and Government markets.

The Head of Sales Operations – Telecommunications will play a critical / central role to build and shape effectiveness within their sales team. The Head of Sales Operations – Telecommunications will be tasked to rapidly identify hiring requirements – either where gaps exist or where territories have the potential to expand

Key Responsibility for the Head of Sales Operations – Telecommunication:

  • Sales Performance – establish consistent frameworks for measuring and managing sales performance. Identify opportunities to incentivize over-performance and objective criteria to identify under-performance. Work closely with HR to develop compensation/incentive plans, sales training, and development programs.
  • Sales Process/Customer Journey Mapping – analyze the sales process across each vertical and develop recommendations where additional support be provided to optimize performance, customer experience and to clarify roles and responsibilities.
  • Campaign and Lead Management Process – work with vertical leads and marketing to ensure a consistent approach to sales and marketing campaigns, and all lead management activity, ensuring campaign origination is insight-led, and targeted where it will drive greatest impact within the sales process.
  • Go to Market Planning – work with vertical leads and finance to set a consistent approach for building go to market plans and setting targets.
  • Sales Tools – identify requirements for standardized sales tools (templates, proposals, etc)that help drive scale and efficiency into the sales process and work across our partner to develop them.

Key Experience required for the Head of Sales Operations – Telecommunication:

  • Proven success in growing sales operations teams
  • Extensive experience in developing ways to evaluate, manage and incentivize sales performance
  • Management experience including people, project, process, and systems
  • Extensive experience with Salesforce.com and sales forecasting & reporting tools
  • Demonstrable history of using data-driven insights and metrics to improve sales performance
  • Strong business acumen, able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  • Experience in evaluating sales opportunities, territories, markets
  • Ability to break down complex problems in a simplified way
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with an ability to innovate
  • Experience working across cultures in a global organization and with global customers
  • Demonstrated success working in a high-growth, fast-paced global environment
  • Excellent communicator and results-driven collaborator with superb influence skills

Hugely desirable experience for the Head of Sales Operations – Telecommunication:

  • +10 years leading a sales operations function or area
  • BS/BA or equivalent in marketing, business, technology, or other related fields
  • Experience in telco, communications, or similar high-tech and high-growth industries
  • Proficiency building models, forecasts, data analysis and data visualizations with BI tool experience
