Job Overview/Summary
The IT department supports the organization’s work by providing reliable and scalable applications and infrastructure of the IRC’s offices in the US and around the world. The Global Information Security (GIS) team is responsible for IT security practices to meet information security, data privacy, legal and donor compliance needs. The Global Real Estate and Workplace Solutions (GREWS) team is tasked to weave physical and virtual workplaces and their underlying infrastructure into a user-friendly hybrid work experience. An integral component of this effort is ensuring users have the knowledge and resources needed to safely utilize our business systems and physical locations effectively and to stay up to date on the latest protocols, technologies and IT initiatives.
The Hybrid Work Communications Officer works closely with IT Training & Communications, Global Real Estate (GREWS) and Global Information Security (GIS) teams to provide communications support for ongoing GIS and GREWS initiatives. Primary responsibilities include the implementation of hybrid work tools across IRC’s major offices, to redesign RescueNet content for IT Security and GREWS that relates to the infrastructure necessary for staff to work in a hybrid work environment, to create graphics (flyers, user guides, etc.) to support change management campaigns for program launches and business process changes; develop and maintain RescueNet intranet pages for GIS and GREWs initiatives; and provide ongoing communications and awareness support on key projects.
The ideal candidate has a background in IT, as a communications specialist, and is able to manage production of collateral materials, draft global announcements, and presentations as needed.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leading the development of support resources to make it easy for staff to be effective working in a hybrid setting, working with IT, GREWS and client department. These resources will include RescueNet pages, training content, digital signage, and flyers.
- Implement hybrid work tools, such as room and desk reservation tools across the organization’s larger offices.
- Develop wayfinding signage concepts for IRC’s offices,
- Develop training materials and room signage for the use of AV systems across the organization.
- Develop concepts to publish content on digital signage, to complement traditional email communication and content on RescueNet.
- Support change management campaigns for GIS project launches and process improvements, leading graphic design requirements.
- Support the GIS project team in defining and producing operational procedure documentation for information security.
- Work closely with functional teams; including IT Training & Comms., GIS and GREWS to help draft global IT announcements related to GIS and GREWS initiatives.
- Design and develop flyers, videos, presentations, and other promotional materials to educate employees on GIS and GREWS projects and policies.
- Contribute to communications and awareness campaigns on IT policies and standards in partnership with Security Enhancement Program (SEP) team.
- Develop and maintain design of RescueNet intranet pages for GIS and GREWS content.

Required Skills
- 6+ years of relevant work experience in communications, media, marketing, and knowledge/significant interest in Information Technology.
- Proven ability to conceptualize user experience and to translate it into a range of user resources.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Strong aptitude in graphic design and production, with knowledge of Adobe Creative suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects, XD).
- Ability to communicate and build effective working relationships across diverse global audience.
Ability to function independently with limited direction.
Preferred Additional Skills

Experience, or ability and willingness to learn hybrid work management tools such as Outlook Room Finder, Visual Directory, Visual Lease etc.

Experience with Box and content management systems (CMS) (e.g., SharePoint or Interact).

Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Education:
- College degree in related field

Compensation:
Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
