About the Company

Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country’s crude oil production and natural gas supply.

Purpose of the Job

Plan, implement and manage large and complex IM&T infrastructure projects (Telecoms and Computing) within scope, cost and time.

Education & Experience

• Experience in industry recognized project management methodologies including Agile tools. Strong knowledge in MS Project is a must.
• Proven project management skills, and preferably PMP certified.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven track record in customer relationship management.
• Sound knowledge in Exploration & Production business activities.
• Possesses an in-depth understanding of IM&T practices, principles, and information and communications technology.

Main Responsibilities

• Initiate, Plan, Execute, Monitor/Control and Close projects in accordance with company project management methodology and guidelines.
• Identify and manage stakeholders to ensure that all parties are aligned with project objectives, requirements, budgets, deadlines, and schedule.
• Develop work breakdown structure (WBS), estimate resources, cost and schedule.
• Manage multiple projects whilst maintaining quality and customer satisfaction.
• Engage with stakeholders to identify, assess, monitor and mitigate project risks and issues.
• Manage contracts under area of responsibility and ensure adherence to company contracting and procurement guidelines.
• Develop Terms of Reference (TOR) for each project under area of responsibility and in consultation with relevant IM&T Portfolio.
• Develop project execution plan for projects as necessary.
• Provide regular budget status input for month end reporting.
• Execute allocated projects in line with project plan, actively participating in all phases of the project.
• Manage project resources and liaise with other functional teams to acquire resources on time.
• Adopt and implement Project Management best practices in line with directives from IM&T project office and corporate guidelines.
• Manage effective communication plans and ensuring their execution. Preparation of project progress reports and distribution of meeting minutes and follow-up actions.
• Facilitate integrated change controls to ensure that all stakeholders are informed of the impact on scope, schedule and/or budget.
• Report to tender boards, senior management, project steering committees and other company governance committees on project status, variance to baseline, corrective action and recovery plan.
• Develop project change management plan and coordinate all identified activities to ensure user adoption and value realization is achieved.
• Conduct project Value Assurance Reviews during major stage gates of the key projects.
• Conduct post implementation reviews when needed and identify lessons learnt.
• Obtain customer acceptance of project deliverables and provide acceptance on contractor deliverables.
• Ensure all project and contract related documentation are accurately produced, published and stored in accordance to the Project Management Office and company guidelines.
• Ensure project handover to operations and provide evidences which demonstrate the deliverable intended have been fulfilled.
• Complete technical and commercial project closeouts as per the corporate guidelines.
• HSE Management: Ensure adherence/compliance with company HSE Policy.
