Rigstar is seeking to fill the Full-time positions of Industrial Telecom Technician in Northern MB, Southern AB – Lethbridge, Terrace, Smithers, Prince George, Kitimat – BC. The Industrial Telecom Technician is responsible for performing installation and servicing of telecommunications equipment, tower climbing, servicing, antenna installations and alignment, radio and networking equipment installation, configuration, and troubleshooting, installation and configuration of telecommunication hardware. This position is based on a work rotation.

Requirements:

· Rigging / Tower Climbing Experience is Required

· Regular Drug and Alcohol testing will be required for this position

· Valid Driver’s License with a clean Driver’s Abstract

· Driver Training Certification is an asset

· Motorola 2-way Radio certification an asset

· Valid Safety Certifications are preferred, however not required and training will be offered

· H2S Alive Certification

· Fall Arrest Certification

· First Aid / CPR

· Able and willing to work out of town on a rotation schedule (20 on / 10 off)

· Knowledge of computers, Windows operating systems and networking

· Cisco Certification is considered an asset

· Fiber and CAT 5 splicing experience is an asset

· Knowledge of computers, Windows operating systems and networking

· Help Desk / Troubleshooting skills

· Experience installing Cellular Enhancement systems and DAS systems

· Installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment

· Experience with WIFI systems, VOIP phone system, cable TV Installations

· Post-Secondary Education in a technology related program is an asset

· Excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to communicate in a straight forward manner.

· Familiarity with CRM Software / Tools

Responsibilities:

· Assist in the research, creation, and application of standards relating to Telecommunications networks and systems on behalf of the customer

· Layout and design of Fibre optic and copper telecom cable networks

· Install, and repair telecommunications equipment on locations and in the shop

· Coax cable and connector installation

· Cable wiring and connector installation

· Configuration of telecommunication hardware

· Tower climbing, and servicing, and construction at heights

· Performing installations, modifications, maintenance, troubleshooting and servicing of telecommunications equipment

Working Conditions:

Duties may be performed outside in various weather conditions.

Ability to lift 50-75lbs regularly

Ability to walk, sit, kneel/crouch for long periods of time

Must be able to carry a 20-foot ladder.

Drive extended distances

Must be comfortable working at heights

Comfortable working in remote locations for extended hours (overnight stays will be required depending on specific job circumstances)
