JOB DESCRIPTION
A client is looking for a REMOTE Communications Consultant to join on to the their team in the IT Operations department. The ideal candidate will have a background in providing top-level assistance for high level executives in their previous roles, specifically in IT infrastructure. This role will be heavily focused on the area of communication, specifically communication to the entire organization and for getting communication out for each area. They will be focused in the Communication Strategy piece and assessing how the team is doing things (like processes and procedures) and working towards a streamline way of going about it. Things should be organized and accessible for all members of the organization. They will also be responsible for sending out announcements to the organization and possibly even a newsletter. They should know how to communicate technical things to non technical people. They will also help convey the company culture.
They will be putting together PowerPoints and presentations from scratch and must be very comfortable with putting together decks. They will need to be able to take concepts and put into visuals for the VP. Or take an idea and put it on paper in a coherent way. They are crafting and creating presentations from scratch. Part of this is keeping the intended audience in mind. Is it the everyday employee, is it a technical team, is it an executive – creating communications accordingly.

Another example is that they could help determine the best way to communicate. Would this message be better as a short video on the landing page? Is an email better? Or the newsletter? What method works best in each situation?
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the communication strategy for the organization
- Draft slides and PowerPoints for executives and other within the organization
- Reporting and PowerPoint preparation on findings
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Proficient in PowerPoint
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task with great follow-up skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with little direction
- Ability to be innovative
- Experience taking a small concept or idea and creating a communication around it
DESIRED SKILLS
- IT expertise is a plus
- Knowledge of IT and Technical knowledge/expertise is a plus
- Telecommunication experience is a plus
- Experience writing a newsletter is a plus
- Degree in Communications
