A fast-growing (Winnipeg head office) MSP firm, working primarily in the Aviation, Communications, and Manufacturing industries. We provide support to more than 3,500 users, 300+ servers, and 200+ network devices in local and remote offices. We provide a wide range of Managed IT, Project Management, Business Intelligence, and Telecommunications services across Canada.

Key Duties:

  • Installation, termination and testing of Cat5e cable, including data cabinets, patch panels, faceplates, wall trays, etc
  • Installation of networking devices: routers, firewall, UPS, access point, etc
  • Installation of video conference systems: central server/unit, TV, microphones, web cameras, speakers, etc
  • Installation of alarm system components such as controllers, zone expanders, keypads, motion sensors, door contacts, etc
  • Installation of access control components such as controllers, card readers, door contacts, door strikes, etc
  • Installation of Ubiquity Microwaves
  • Differentiate and install several types of cables (HDMI, VGA, Display Port, USB)
  • Understand and configure IP address, masks, gateways, MAC addresses and its basic troubleshooting
  • Maintains a safe, orderly, and clean working environment
  • Is directly responsible for company assets such as service vehicle, inventory, tools, laptops, and test equipment
  • Maintains good communication with Field Supervisor and/or Manager
  • Coordination of (Verify) shipping and receiving, and in the field: material audits to identify shortages
  • Document and make available the information on work assigned and others providing labour, material, or services to the Project on a daily base.
  • Escalate any significant project issues related to scope, quality, or timing

Skills and Experience:

  • Requires 1+ years of related experience
  • DSC, Kantech and Hikvision is an asset
  • Able to travel to support in-field operations
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Teams and ConnectWise sofware
  • Able to work and demonstrate safe work procedures with hand and power tools
  • Comfortable working at heights (up to 20 feet)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • An aptitude for applying learnings to on-the-job requirements
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a reliable vehicle to attend job sites

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced electrical understanding – able to identify and mitigate risks related to electrical circuits
  • Structured Cabling Experience
  • Post-secondary certificate/diploma or Red Seal Trade Certification (an asset)

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

Salary: $18.00-$23.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
