The Installer 2 position requires employees to have or be willing to get the BICSI Installer 2, Copper certification. They take direction from the project manager and superintendent or assigned project lead. They complete, report and sign off on tasks to help assist in the completion of the installation.

• Supervisor: Superintendent

• Salary Range: $15 to start and up to $18/hour once fully qualified.

Duties: An Installer 2 helps and may be assigned to lead several Installer 1 or 2 employees to complete the installation of telecommunication rooms, cable pathways (j-hooks, cable tray, sleeves, etc.), category rated cable, fiber optic cable, specialty systems cable, terminations, testing, equipment mounting, firestopping and bonding. Installer 2 employees must be physically fit to climb ladders, crouch, bend and stand during an entire work shift. All Installer 2 candidates must have successfully completed all Installer 1 requirements to be compensated at the Installer 2 level.

All Installer 2 employees start at $15.00/hour. Upon completion of the following items, the wage increases to $18.00/hour.

• 3000 hours (typically 1.5 years) on the job.

• Has shown proven reliability, punctuality and dependability.

• Continues to adhere to all company policies and procedures.

• Hand tools: 1 year (Required)
