Integration and Testing Manager (Project in Windsor, ON)

Protecnium is an international consulting firm specialized in engineering and technician services. We are currently recruiting for candidates to join our team as Integration and Testing Manager for a major Project in Windsor, ON – Canada:

Responsibilities:

• Review design documentation of the entire project identifying requirements for the Systems.
• Develop comprehensive system integration Plan and Procedures for the Project Systems.
• Minimize the number of subcontractors working on systems that interface with each other (Network project wide by the ITS subcontractor).
• Identify interfaces via shop drawings.
• Set up workshops among subcontractors, and with external stakeholders.
• Identify System Integration experts (consultants) for possible use and solicit pricing from the experienced vendors.
• Implement early procurement of installation and testing, to allow time to test and troubleshoot the interfaces. If needed, set up a test environment to bench test the entire system prior to installation.
• Specify the preferred products and submit details to owner for approvals. Including making sure that the specified and selected products are not scheduled to be discontinued, and that they will be supported for the expected life of the product.
• Work with sub-contractors driving compliance with all quality control and testing for all project Systems component including and not limited to cabling, panels, cabinets, enclosures, network switches, distribution to the end devices, traffic signs, phones, radios, mechanical equipment (elevators, etc), building systems (fire detection and suppression), government and border control agencies, etc.
• Witness installation, inspection, testing, and verify the test results for the minimum of the following communication infrastructure work according to the appropriate specification.
• Identify scope gaps and work with the project Procurement and Contracting teams procuring and sub-contracting the services for the scope with gaps.
• Implement and execute Cyber security requirements for Communication systems.
• Design temporary Communication infrastructure allowing to proceed with integration testing of the systems installed on both sides of the Bridge and Ports of Entry while the permanent communication infrastructure is not available yet.
• Work with the Project Procurement team ordering the necessary temporary equipment.
• Required to interface with project stakeholders such as Telecom providers MDOT, OMR.
• Required to support Project reporting showing progress.

Qualifications/ skills

• Required to support and pass Government background screening required for working with Type-A Project classified documentation, includes background check by FBI.
• Control Systems and Telecommunication Systems Professional with minimum of 10 years of experience in design, supervision of installation sub-contractors, turnover, commissioning, start-up of similar systems.
• Design, Procurement and Sub-contracting experience , required for temporary testing infrastructure
• Being able to self-contribute as well as manage a project team.
• Proactive, responsible, able to identify important details with impact on costs and constructability, interpersonal skills to interface and discuss with individuals of different backgrounds.

Specific Experience required/preferred

• Preferred experience in roadways and building construction, turnover and start-up
• Maintenance and Operations experience is a plus.

Special conditions:

• Required to travel to from Windsor, Canada and Detroit, US for witnessing and checking installations and testing by sub-contractors, attend and facilitate coordination meetings.
• Work schedule Mo-Fr with Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays off. 40 hrs/wk, no paid overtime
• Commitment to provide continuous support to the project through duration of execution phase end Dec2024.
