Integration Test Engineer

Actalent is actively seeking an Integration Test Engineer for a position in the Telecommunications Industry!

Description:
Our client is looking for an Integration test Engineer to work with the design team for their modem product lines. This role is not product verification, it is the product testing between software designers and getting the product to verification (PV) testers. In this role, you will be a member of a team developing modem releases for the next generation pluggable devices. You will learn the feature requirements, write integration test plans, and design the networks needed to test the features. You will execute tests, record results and document issues found. You will also work with the software design team to reproduce issues, test fixes build test setups and debug issues. Although not a requirement for the role, there could be an opportunity to create automated test cases to help with the overall test effort for a candidate with the skills and interest in this area. As part of these tasks, you will work closely with other integration testers as well as software designers, systems architects and product verification.

Responsibilities:

• Create integration test plan
• Raise Jira’s and create tickets for the design team to test
• Working with the design team to understand how the design works in order to create test plan.
• Know when issues arise and ability to discover what those issues are. Working with designers and product verification.
• Whitebox testing

Must Haves:
1) Experience testing software features on a embedded platform (ideally a networking device)

2) Good communication skills

3) One or more of the following:

• Python Test automation
• Networking experience – optical or IP
• Agile
• OTN
• Debugging on hardware
• Automation Experience
• Linux (command line)

Assets:

• Experience with configuring and using optical systems and test sets
• Experience in a development lab environment – static control, connecting fibers, etc.
• Experience working in a Agile development environment
• Experience with test automation and Python
• Software design experience
• Optical Networking knowledge
