Core Responsibilities:
Provides communications support to senior leaders, including communication around key initiatives, high-level organization announcements, All Hands meetings, project and team recognition/milestone achievements, and other communications needs.
Provides communications support related primarily to our project and network-related business initiatives; audiences will include employees in a variety of our company’s networks
Supports our special project’s communications (proactive and reactive) in partnership with members of the Corporate Internal and External Communications teams.
Partners with our special project’s program leaders and project managers across several functions that are responsible for planning, testing, technology and tools, construction, deployment, operations, training, customer service, marketing, communicating, and measuring each phase of the project.
Works closely with Division Employee Communications Leads to distribute messaging and materials to their leaders and audiences, as well as other key stakeholders to ensure alignment across the company and the timely and effective dissemination of messaging and materials to employees.
Works in close partnership with Director, Network, and other Internal Communications Contractor(s) directly supporting our special project and network communications.
Activities may include drafting, editing, proofreading, layout, and distribution of content across print, online, video, digital and social media (e.g., Yammer).
Activities may include creating, presenting, and stakeholdering communications plans, tactics, timelines; setting up and publishing content to the company intranet using content management tools and setting up/distributing messages using email/digital campaign manager tools, and managing the end-to-end review and approval cycle with multiple sources of feedback.
Identifies story ideas for newsletter and intranet posting.
Keeps communications fresh, creative, and engaging; regularly develops and explores new ideas and strategies, such as social forums and platforms.
Ensures proper post-project analysis and “continuous improvement” approach, with a keen eye for metrics and communications effectiveness.
Consistently exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent; English, communications, or journalism preferred.
Generally requires 8+ years of related experience, preferably relevant internal or operational/technical communications experience.
Knowledge of/experience with and/or interest/aptitude for telecom, internet service providers (ISPs) and/or broadband networks a plus.
Ability to write quickly; distilling complex concepts into key messages in a fast-paced environment is critical.
Strong professional demeanor and comfort interacting with senior leaders and subject matter experts across the organization and coordinating with external partners (e.g., creative services, print/video production).
Demonstrated ability to develop effective partnerships across the organization at all levels.
Ability to work within a deadline-driven environment.
Ability to work independently and seamlessly with teams, managing multiple tasks concurrently.
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong project management skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
Proficiency in Graphic Design applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.), a plus.
