IP Network Engineer

Viaero’s IP Network Engineer provides for the stable functioning of the IP network that supports Data Center managed and hosted services. This professional also manages the upgrading and modification of the IP network to satisfy services growth and expansion. They research the development of IP networking support for new network services and are responsible for configuration and management of the edge network, IP address management, and DDoS systems. They handle the implementation of the IP and MPLS Network including transport nodes, fiber equipment and Core equipment. Additional responsibilities include the following:

  • Understand and document the existing network topology, and directly contribute to possible new and emerging technologies
  • Operate and maintain the IP network delivering IP data, voice, and video to an assigned customer access network
  • Ensure IP network support of new and existing services and features
  • Extend all the necessary support for the second and third-tier escalations for all operational outages in IP network
  • Design and develop new network infrastructure for use by Viaero engineering and operations
  • Seek opportunities to optimize traffic distribution in collaboration with the operations department, being proactive in nature and using strong critical thinking skills
  • Offer technical assistance to the IP Network devices such as Routers, Switches and Firewalls
  • Handle technical issues, fault finding and maintenance operations, as an individual and as part of the group
  • Develop maintenance solutions and software commissioning as necessary
  • Conduct technical audits and service migrations
  • Ensure that best practices are followed during network equipment installation and configuration
  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of testing requirements and execution of appropriate test cases
  • Ensure proper deployment of equipment, and perform both audits and data cleaning activities


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics, or telecommunications is required. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is a plus.

Candidates with at least a year of experience are preferred.

Candidates must have the ability to pass all pre-employment tests/checks, including background, MVR and substance screen.

Candidates should be eligible to work in the U.S. without need of sponsorship. Candidates holding a current H1B Visa or extended learning Visa may be considered.

Salary is based upon experience and education. Anticipated range is between $75k and $95K.
