IT Field Installation Technician

Entry Level Field Technician-Computer/Network/Telecom

Orange County Network Services – OCNS has more work than we can handle and need professional IT Field Installation Technicians.

Location: Travel will be required to project sites in Orange, Los Angeles and San Diego counties. Out of state travel up to a week at a time may be required. Full airfare, lodging and meals are paid for out of state travel.

Pay Rate: $ 18 to $ 50 per hour. Our salaries are higher than our competitors as we only select experienced, IT Installation Technicians who can work professionally and safely by themselves.

OCNS (www.ocnsonline.com) is a growing IT Connectivity Solutions Provider. We offer solutions for business customers in these fields: Networking, WiFi, Cellular DAS.

We are looking to hire additional reliable IT Field Installation Technicians in the Greater Los Angeles area that have their own transportation and comfortable driving to multiple locations each day. This is NOT an office help desk job, you will be in the field, on site working with customers everyday. Must be on time to ALL job sites. This job requires you to solve problems, follow written instructions, provide excellent customer service and do some physical labor like climbing 6 or 8 foot ladder, using hand tools as drills and termination tools, installing antennas on roofs and ceilings.

Job Description:

– Install and assist to remotely configure network equipment (server, router, switch, WAP)

– Work independently and follow instructions in a SOW and problem solve

– Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and network connectivity problems

– Work with Remote Engineers.

– Install, punch down and terminate CAT6, Test and Certify

– Document hardware equipment and locations on spreadsheet

– Experience with heatmapping WiFi installations with Ekahau and Airmagnet

– Install Yagi type antennas and mounts on roofs

– Terminate LMR-400 coax cable

– Be able to mount equipment and console into the different types of network devices

– Ability to travel extensively and overnight

– IT Certifications and years of relevant experience are helpful

– Detailed work orders provided for all installations with instructions.

Experience:

Networking, WiFi, DAS experience desired

Laptop, console cable, printer are required

Background check and drug screen are required and will be paid for by OCNS before hiring and beginning work

High School Diploma

Basic hand tools

Pay: $18.00 – $50.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
