This position requires a self-motivated, professional individual with various soft skills, such as leadership, communication, and time management, to complete tasks, manage conflicts, motivate employees and increase productivity. The IT Manager must be able to use their soft skills effectively to engage with their teams, communicate with business partners and collaborate with other managers or stakeholders on IT projects.
Location:
Calgary, Alberta.
Preferable working out of the Calgary Office or potentially out of any of the CCI Group of Companies offices. This role is primarily office based but candidate must have the ability for intermittent travel to other CCI Group of Companies when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with all departments to establish technology priorities
- Develop CCI Group of Companies IT Guidelines, Policies and Procedures based on industry standard security and client requirements
- Participate in selection and approval of software and hardware
- Set strategic goals and direction for IT Department
- Enforce data security, OS security, and access procedures as per CCI IT security policy and customer security policies
- Lead and manage the day-to-day performance of IT staff including hiring, performance evaluation, mentoring and technical leadership
- Promote training for IT team members to help maintain an elevated level of expertise for all
- Develop and test disaster recovery plans in infrastructure and applications
- Develop change management process
- Maintain infrastructure including upgrades of software and hardware technologies, monitoring the environment to detect any hardware/software issues and participate in system-related changes following change management process
- Ensure compliance with audit control standards and support internal and external audits as required
- Comply with software license requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Post secondary degree in Information Technology and Information Systems, Systems and Network Administration or equivalent in related field is required
- 5-10 years of related and progressive IT experience in a leadership role
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem-solving, conflict resolution, leadership, and organizational skills
- Experience leading cyber security prevention and planning; back-up strategies and methodologies
- Extensive information technology background to plan, develop, implement, and maintain information technology systems to ensure technology support for local and wide area networks, servers, desktop and laptop hardware and software are up to date and functioning properly
- Fundamentals of Windows operating systems
- Software and hardware installation, configuration, upgrading, diagnosing, troubleshooting and repair
- Understanding of network topologies, cabling as well as the physical setup and layout of network
- Expenditure management tracking
- Experience in telecommunications: assessing needs and managing appropriate technologies
- An excellent communicator and team player, able to work within a multi-disciplinary team environment with a positive attitude
- Detail-oriented, meticulous, and have strong organizational skills
- Willingness to learn and take additional responsibilities
- Quality and Safety oriented mindset
