It Manager

job summary:

Randstad is working with a bank in the Greater Boston area that is looking to hire a contract high level IT Manager. This role is responsible for day-to-day coordination of IT systems and activities, including managing the support function of the IT department, as well as the utilization of services from vendors, development of IT strategic plan and IT budget. Additionally, this role will interact with external vendors and internal customers, purchasing, servicing, and providing networking and telecommunication products. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience within IT and 5+ years of managerial/supervisory experience, as well as banking/financial industry relevant experience. This role has a hybrid schedule with a 2 days onsite/week.

responsibilities:

• Directs, coordinates, and manages daily activities of the IT Department to ensure optimal, operational efficiency

• Manages the support functions of the IT Department and provides users with technical support for computer issues

• Manages backup procedures, tape libraries, security and user help systems

• Develop computer information resources, providing for data security and control, strategic computing, and disaster recovery

• Consults with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements

• Meets with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve issues

• Reviews and improves existing software and equipment

• Creates software procedures and manuals for in-house end users

• Manages documentation and correction of system failures

• Plans for future IT requirements

• Implements departmental and bank-wide strategic initiative projects to create operational efficiencies and enhance the customer experience

• Manages utilization of services from vendors

• Manages operating and capital budgets

• Implements specific risk management and compliance controls and reporting standards

• Coordinates/implements audit finding remediation

• Ensures that department is in compliance with relevant rules and regulations by monitoring their procedures
