IT Project Manager

Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental preservation, is looking for an IT Project Manager for their Vancouver, WA location. In this role, you will work closely with the Telecommunications Operational Infrastructure organizations to coordinate and integrate Control Center infrastructure, IT Telecommunications networks, and applications integration projects from inception to conclusion. the PM in this position will be expected to work with project teams to draft project plans; create and track schedules and budgets; to facilitate and coordinate project activities; and, to track, monitor and provide detailed milestones and reporting for multiple designated projects.

Pay Rate: $57/ Hour

Location: Vancouver, WA

Hybrid: Must report in-person minimum 2 days every 2 weeks

Key Responsibilities for IT Project Manager:

• Provide project management expertise and support and facilitate manager-assigned Control Center IT project or projects, from beginning to end, providing expert guidance on the PMI-based project management methodology, best practices, and internal skill development.
• Identify and request necessary subject matter experts needed during the project.
• Forecast and recommend appropriate project resources to fulfill project needs.
• Collaborate with business units and Performance Managers to resolve resource allocation issues.
• Schedule and facilitate project team meetings.
• Recommend an overall roadmap of efforts required to achieve program initiatives and project objectives.
• Provide recommendations regarding project expectations, approach, roadmaps, work plans, deliverables and goals.
• Draft project plans, resource strategies and funding estimates required to advance each assigned project.
• Draft a final project report, including project “lessons-learned”, for appropriate management review and approval and acceptance.

Requirements/Qualifications for IT Project Manager:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
• 7 years of experience is required with an applicable Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience should include project management of IT network infrastructure related projects and applications integrations projects.
• Advanced skills with MS Project to include fundamental operation, function, and workflow of MS Project: timelines, dependencies, project expectations, milestones, and resources.
• Ability to complete IT Telecommunications project planning, functional and technical specifications, and system life-cycle management.
• Knowledge of IT Network Infrastructure projects and/or Applications Integrations projects in accordance with industry project management principles.
