POSITION DESCRIPTION
Provides overall support relative to all computer hardware and software needs for the organization with emphasis on hardware.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
¨ Maintains support to desktop computers, peripherals and software
¨ Performs data backups and file recovery
¨ Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and resolves hardware, software, or telephone system, and replace defective components when necessary
¨ Loads computer tapes and disks, and install software and printer paper or forms
¨ Supports sales team with IT related issues, including all laptops, and ensures resolution
¨ Provides and coordinates IT related tasks for Blenheim, CA and Emporia, KS locations
¨ Supports other locations as directed by Information Technology Vice President
¨ Repairs and tests desktop and laptop hardware, work with senior technicians at corporate office to support network and servers
¨ Reviews performance logs to determine the need for repair or replacement
¨ Implements and provides technical support for voice services and equipment, such as private branch exchange, voice mail system, and telecom system
¨ Maintains logs related to network functions, as well as maintenance and repair records
¨ Trains people in computer system use
¨ Coordinates with vendors and with company personnel to facilitate purchases
¨ Performs routine network startup and shutdown procedures and maintain control records
¨ Perform other duties as required
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
¨ Associates Degree, or two to five years’ experience with supporting end users with Windows and Mac OS
¨ Experience with Cisco and Macintosh
¨ Experience with telephone and voicemail systems
¨ Experience with PC drives, card, and motherboard replacement
¨ Experience supporting and maintaining HP printers
COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
¨ Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail required
¨ Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and problem solving skills
¨ Ability to create and edit HTML web pages and use JavaScript
¨ Excellent computer literacy, Microsoft Office products required
¨ Some travel required
