| Position Summary/Purpose of Position: | The Universities at Shady Grove (USG) is seeking an IT Telecommunications Specialist. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Datacenter and Systems Services, the IT Telecommunications Specialist provides advanced support, maintenance and administration of campus-wide technical resources including complex preventive maintenance and advanced troubleshooting. This position will work closely with other units within the IT department to coordinate and perform the installation of computer hardware including workstations, servers, appliances, memory, storage, peripherals, uninterrupted power supplies, KVM systems, Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Datacenter and Systems Services, the IT Telecomm Specialist provides advanced support, maintenance and administration of campus-wide technical resources including complex preventive maintenance and advanced troubleshooting. This position works closely with other units within the OIT department to coordinate and perform the installation of computer hardware including workstations, servers, appliances, memory, storage, peripherals, uninterrupted power supplies, and KVM systems and other duties as assigned. |
| Minimum Qualifications: | Education: High School Diploma or GED. Experience: Five years directly related experience. Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
