Jr Network Engineer

CEI’s global media & technology Fortune 30 client is hiring 3 Jr Network Engineers to troubleshoot issues with external customers and network/telecom providers in Plano, TX!

*CANDIDATES MUST BE LOCAL TO DFW FOR CONSIDERATION, (willing to consider hybrid scheduling down the road)*

Targeting 1+ years’ experience working in LAN/WAN/WLAN support (client-facing), *or* a Bachelors in IT.

***This is a long-term W2 Hourly Contract-to-Hire position with pay ranging at $30 – $35/hr***

Job Description:

• Troubleshoot issues with external customers and network/telecom providers
• Hands-on IP router/switch/telephony customer premises equipment
• Design, configure and deploy LAN and WAN network connections, hardware, software and communication links and services
• Optimize the network and systems services and troubleshoot any network performance issues
• Responsible for the service provision and monitoring of the network infrastructure to company standards
• Work with service providers and vendors to drive issues to resolution
• Carry out maintenance activities according to engineering MOP’s
• Perform router and firewall activations for new and existing customers
• Perform test and troubleshooting of T1, E1, DS3, OC3, OC12 and high-capacity Ethernet circuits
• Investigate and complete reason for outage (RFO) reports on all network outages
• Accept external/internal customer calls, vendors, and partners
• Perform special projects, network audits

Requirements:

• *CANDIDATES MUST BE LOCAL TO DFW FOR CONSIDERATION* willing to consider hybrid scheduling down the road
• 1+ year experience working in LAN/WAN/WLAN support or implementation and Cisco and Juniper switches and routers
• Experience with installing, troubleshooting, and activating hardware from vendors including Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Meraki, and Arista, (Cisco and Fortinet/FortiGate highly desired)
• Previous experience in the service provider business facing enterprise/corporate customers is nice to have
• Knowledge of Layer 1 and Layer 2 internetworking technologies
• Experience with various protocols (BGP, FortiGate, Nokia/Alcatel & Silverpeak are top vendors of theirs) is nice to have
• Firewall experience with firewalls such as Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, Checkpoint NG, etc. is nice to have
