Junior It Support Technician

To keep up with our rapid growth, we are looking for a Junior IT Support Technician to join our growing team, all while being a leading example of our company culture.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Regional/office network implementation and maintenance, including WAN/LAN/Voice, network equipment configurations and deployment, network system troubleshooting and health checking.
• Perform installation of copper cabling and, installation of multi-mode and single-mode fiber optic cabling.
• Perform installation of computer equipment, network components and other materials such as PDU in the telecom cabinet. Completion of the required testing following installations.
• Troubleshoot problems related to wiring connections for workstations and VOIP phones with the network infrastructure.
• Server racking installation & removal including labelling and provisioning of power, LAN, SAN connections.
• On site resource for user desktop/laptop, scanner, printer support, helps resolving problematic events.
• Monitoring of and scheduled inspections of facilities, systems, server systems and escalation as required.
• Other duties as required to support Hypertec’ s evolving business deliverables.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• Diploma or AEC/DEC related to information technology or equivalent;
• Nice to have IT certifications such as Network +;
• Knowledgeable in IT infrastructure items, such as server room facilities, structure cabling system, UPS, door access control/CCTV, video conferencing, air conditioning etc;
• Networking knowledge of wiring, connectors, diagnostics of SFP and telecommunications standards in TIA/EIA-568;
• Ability to work in accordance with all safety, building and municipal regulations;
• Ability to apply common sense and carry out detailed written or oral instructions;
• Availability to perform occasional work outside of regular business hours;
• Good communication skills in French and English;
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role:
  • Work in a standing position, walking throughout the day;
  • Occasionally lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.;
  • Perform tasks in positions such as bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, pushing, pulling, etc.;
  • Comfortable working at heights over 20+ feet, driving skyjack and working on ladders.
