Primary Function:

The Junior Network Administrator is responsible for providing a high level of internal customer support by maintaining desktop support and resolving day to day issues that may occur. The Junior Network Administrator will report to the Sr. IT Engineer and will have exposure to a multitude of business challenges that will enhance their professional development. The right individual will be flexible and possess the ability to work in a mid-size company that requires a multi-tasking “can-do” detail-oriented attitude. The ideal candidate is quick, smart, meticulous, flexible, a creative problem solver, promotes teamwork between departments, and is tenacious about achieving organizational goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Administration of desktop support
  • Administration of remote desktop services
  • Switch networking support-switches, routers and firewalls
  • Maintenance of IP camera security
  • Installation and troubleshooting of Microsoft Office Suite Products
  • Responsible for implementation of Desktop GPOs. Evaluates hardware and software, including peripheral, output, and related equipment.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of VDI related operational procedures and standards.
  • Develop and implement testing strategies and document results.
  • Provides support and assistance to Network Engineer(s) and Telecommunications Systems contract line support staff.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Extensive troubleshooting in installation and configuration of Windows Operating Systems; Disk Configuration and Installation and Configuration of DNS and Active Directory; Systems Policy and Group Policy; Systems Back-up and Recovery; Windows Performance Tuning and Windows Server
  • Interface with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance to ensure appropriate resolution
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with PCs, software and communications devices
  • Create, maintain and publish relevant support documentation in order to assist all users in the quick resolution of their incidents and service requests and enable users to become more self-sufficient
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems. Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of related systems administration experience.
  • Windows Server Knowledge
  • Working knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols.
  • Maintain excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in the organization.
  • Work experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, Windows Professional 7/10/11, TCP/IP, DNS, Local Area Networking, Printer, Fax, and Scanner setup and troubleshooting,
  • A+, Network +, MCSA, CCNA or related area is desirable

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
