Junior Network Engineer

The Junior Network Engineer is a Full-Time, Regular position working Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. This position may have the opportunity work remotely.

Summary: The qualified candidate will provide direct support to clients and Nuvodia by performing both systems and network engineering tasks as required. This position works with a team of engineers to deploy traditional, hosted, and managed solutions to our customer base. Responsible for implementing, supporting, and proactively managing applications and hardware.

General Description: The Junior Engineer must be able to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced office environment in meeting continual deadlines. The Engineer must be able to handle multiple priorities with constant interruptions. Organization is essential in order to meet deadlines. A sense of urgency, the ability to make good decisions, and the prioritization of tasks is necessary. The Junior Engineer must be able to support mission critical applications in a 24×7 environment.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

• Onsite and/or remote installation, configuration, analysis, repair, and support
• Provides technical support to critical applications and/or user requests in 24×7 environments.
• Participates in the implementation of upgrades or new applications and infrastructure deployments.
• Maintains appropriate technical documentation necessary for IT Operations and training.
• Performs Systems Engineering activities to include: test, build, deploy, manage and support systems and applications.
• Ability to support backup solutions, security solutions, hardware maintenance, system management and system monitoring.
• Develops and maintains fundamental knowledge, at a server or back-end level, of application functionality.
• Understanding of managing virtual infrastructure and enterprise storage technologies
• Understanding of managing Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, In Tune, Azure, and Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems.

• Performs Network Engineering activities to include: test, build, deploy, manage and support systems and applications.
• Implements, installs, and troubleshoots network infrastructure with Fortinet and Cisco switches, routers, access points, and firewalls

• Provides maintenance and troubleshooting to telecommunications systems, including voice network, integrated work stations, telecommunications cable/wiring plans, and related products and services.
• Installs and supports remote sites including home network users and new offices; phone and network cabling; new networks including testing, implementation and maintenance.
• Manages network and data projects including site remodels for networks and phones, securing bids for equipment and managing timelines and implementation/installation

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors Degree in MIS, information science, computer science, engineering or other related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience:
• One-Two years of Systems and/or Networking Engineering experience required.
• Understanding of, and experience with, Microsoft Technologies including, Windows Server and Desktop Architecture, Active Directory, Azure, and Office 365 required.
• Understanding of, and experience with, Network Technologies including routing, switching, VPN management, wireless access points required.
• Experience with Citrix, VMWare, AWS, and Veeam preferred.
• Experience with security technologies, such as SIEM, EDR/MDR, AV, and MFA preferred.
• Microsoft, Fortinet, Cisco, and VMWare certifications preferred.
• Excellent communications, interpersonal and customer support skills.
• Ability to work in a high energy, team environment.
